04 June, 2009   No Blind Spots + No Moving Parts = Green Video Surveillance Technology

Traditional camera technology only provides at best 5-10% of the information within a Field-of-view (FOV) that's needed to gain the entire story. Immersive video or 360-degree technology has no moving parts and no blind spots, delivering complete situational awareness to the end-user with no unbroken video. Simply put, if a camera was pointed to the right and the incident happened on the left, the camera was worthless. 360-degree technology embraces wide-angle lens, high resolution sensors and, with software, corrects the users perspective view in a dewarped or unwrapped section of the source video, for full retrospective Pan-Tilt-Zoom capability in live or recorded video.

Sentry 360 Security, Inc. publicly releases its open architecture Software Development Kit (SDK) to the IP Video security industry. For years 360-degree immersive video has had its ups and down, technologies have come and gone but Sentry 360 believes it has put a stamp on the future for this breed of high resolution wide angle technology.

360-degree panormaic video solves the problem of blind-spots and poor resolution by reducing camer counts and delivering complete situational awareness.
